We're off to Israel!

We are heading to Israel at the end of the month as part of the nation's 60th anniversary celebration. While there I will be awarded the prestigious Theodor Herzl Award at a gala ceremony in Jerusalem. The award recognizes people "for their strength of will and commitment to realizing their dreams" as well as for being an outstanding philanthropist and business person.

More important than the award is the opportunity to interact with Israeli leaders and citizens to better understand the security and economic issues facing one of our most important world partners. Having recently returned from Israel several months ago, I am continually amazed by what the tenacity and perserverance of the Israeli people has produced in the tiny land that encompasses the Nation of Israel.

While in Israel we will be blogging daily about our trip that will include a helicopter ride and a meeting with Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Please check back daily and offer your comments. We will be in Israel from June 26 through July 5.

Warm regards,
Jim and Cecelia

Congrats, good luck and enjoy your trip. My late friend Lenny Zakim used to take several men and women to Israel each year to educate and enlighten, and they wound up naming a bridge after him. Here's to you both building your own bridge; Godspeed. Frank B.
